ILOY Participates in National Indigenous Veterans Day - Indigenous Canadians remember ancestors who fought, died in war (2016-11-08 Globe and Mail) - Students from Royal Military College (RMC) of Canada’s Indigenous Leadership Opportunity Year (ILOY) program joined indigenous people across Canada to pay tribute to those who served in uniform before them on National Indigenous Veterans Day Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Two of the students, Officer Cadet Michael Petagumskum of the Kuujjuaq Inuit and Officer Cadet Mark Winstanley, an Ojibway from Winnipeg, participated in the national ceremony at the National Indigenous Veterans Memorial in Ottawa.
RMC Chaplain helps organize a Muslim Remembrance Day Service in Toronto - Muslims Remember: Muslims Hold Remembrance Day Service in Toronto (2016-11 - Muslim Link) - Royal Canadian Military College Chaplain, Captain (Imam) Ryan Carter, and Ontario Regional Chaplain for Correctional Services Canada, Imam Michael Taylor, worked together to organize a special Muslim Remembrance Day Service on November 6th, to commemorate the service of Muslims in the Canadian military in times of peace and conflict.
GeoEngineering Technical Field Course in Greece, RMC Graduate Course - From Monday, December 7th, 2015 until Sunday, December 13th, 2015, two post-graduate students from the Civil Engineering Department of the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), Captain Stephen Holt (25116) and Second Lieutenant Daniel Cruz (26305), took part in a Geotechnical Field Course in Greece. Throughout the week, the students took part in discussions and analysis of different tunneling sites at various stages of construction throughout Greece as part of one of their main courses required for completion of their Masters of Applied Science.
