Clarke Mackey, a Kingston-based, award-winning filmmaker, author and teacher, is the Artist in residence for the 2020 winter term at the Royal Military College of Canada.
Mr. Mackey loves to tell stories with moving images and sound. While at RMC, he is inviting all members of the university and Kingston military community to visit his media studio on campus and learn movie-making through workshops and one-on-one consultations. He is also offering to supervise individuals pursuing the creation of their own film projects.

The idea of the artist-in-residence program at RMC was first suggested in 2008. Development of the program drew on examples of writer-in-residence programs at other Ontario universities. Other artists who have participated in the program include: writer Steven Heighton (2010); writer Harvey Schachter (2011); playwright Dr Julie Salverson (2012); poet Michel Ouellette (2013); musician Gord Sinclair of The Tragically Hip (2014); photographer Chris Miner (2015); author and poet Helen Humphreys (2016); poet Bernard Laverdure (2017); artist Nancy Douglas (2018), and poet, videomaker and YouTuber Mélanie Jannard (2019).
