CWO Ellsworth grew up in a rural area of Prince Edward Island called St. Edwards. CWO Ellsworth joined the reserves in 1994 after a career day at high school. And after 2 years he joined the regular force/. He was posted to CFB Petawawa for his first posting to the Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCD) until 2009, when he was posted to CFB Gagetown. While in Gagetown, he initially was an instructor at the Armoured School for two years and also worked in standards and finished in Gagetown as a course Warrant Officer.

Returning to the RCD in Petawawa in 2013 CWO Ellsworth was employed as a Recce Sqn Ops WO and SQ and then HQ Sqn Transport WO. CWO Ellsworth was then posted to the Language School for a year-long French training after which he was posted to 2 CMBG as the G5 Plans WO prior to deploying to Ukraine in Op UNIFIER with the RCD.

CWO Ellsworth has six operational deployments including Bosnia, Kosovo, Ukraine and three tour to Afghanistan. During his tour to Ukraine, CWO Ellsworth worked on Line of Effort 5 – Medical Training as the Sargent Major. In this capacity he worked with the Ukraine Ministry of Defence assisting in the development of a NATO compatible Medical Corp.

After returning from Ukraine, CWO Ellsworth was the SSM for B Sqn RCD from 2018 to 2019. In 2019 he was posted to CJOC and worked in the CFICC. In 2021 he was posted back to Petawawa to be the 4 CDSG GSM. In May 2022 he assumed the role 4 CDSB Ops Svcs RSM. In 2023 he assumed the role as 4 CDSB Pers Svcs CSM Svc Coy.

CWO Ellsworth’s wife, Sandy, works at Family and Children Services in Pembroke and they have two children Lillian and Sara.

CWO Ellsworth enjoys four-wheeling and has explored some of the trails in New Brunswick and Ottawa Valley. He also enjoys cross-country and down hill skiing.
